Water and Wastewater Engineering
Comprehensive water and wastewater services infrastructure design
Water and Wastewater Engineering
Stormwater, water and wastewater design capabilities support all of Nurizon’s business sectors – whether for an airfield’s stormwater drainage system, a Mine Infrastructure Area’s pollution control containment infrastructure, or a municipal housing development project. We use Autodesk Civil 3D design software for digital terrain modelling and to assist in stormwater runoff analysis calculations, as well as other industry recognised hydrological and flow analysis software packages.
Nurizon has extensive experience in stormwater, water and wastewater design and implementation projects, ranging from site-wide stormwater design solutions, bulk services supply, reticulation design and internal services design (wet services design).
As a company we have successfully completed various specialised water and wastewater projects in terms of pump station design, fire water design, dewatering systems and rain water harvesting schemes.
Our project portfolio showcases a selection of our associated design projects.

Mopani District Municipality Water and Sanitation Revitalisation Programme – Giyani, Limpopo
Project:
Bulk Water Supply: Detail Design
The Giyani Water Treatment Works, with the recently (at time of publication) upgraded capacity of 37 Mℓ/d is the principal water source for the communities within the Greater Giyani Local Municipality (GGLM).

Nandoni Bulk Water Supply Project – Giyani, Limpopo
Project:
Bulk Water Supply: Detail Design
The water supply from Nsami Dam near Giyani, Limpopo Province is under severe pressure to accommodate ever increasing water demands in the area. In an effort to meet future water demands, water is to be pumped from the Nandoni Dam (near Thohoyandou, Limpopo Province) to supplement the Giyani current water supply scheme.

Gauteng Schools Programme Developments
Project:
Gauteng Schools Programme: Detail Mechanical and Wet Services Design
The Gauteng Schools Programme was launched in March 2011 to address significant backlogs in school facilities in Gauteng. Nurizon was appointed to undertake the mechanical and wet services designs for two new township primary schools, located in Ga-Rankuwa and Bram Fischerville (M. Kontane) – North of Pretoria and Soweto respectively. The schools have been labelled ‘Smart School Prototypes’ based on the use of sustainable ‘green’ building technologies.
